Assignment Post 2

We are planning our video, making a storyboard today. Having   Angela,  and I went to the lockers, in order to plan the initial scene. Angela and I have also worked out how to position the Camera Angles, to capture the essence of the story. We choose to use Chelsea's camera, her phone camera and Kate's camera. Here is a camera angle we like, and may use.

Group Assignment Post 1

This lesson Chelsea has brought her camera in to begin testing and filming.
The storyboard is well and truly underway , with the group working on it through the lesson.
There are several stunts for the coin which must also trial to see if it is possible to perform and more over whether it is able to be captured on film

Our Project

Our project is to make 5 minutes worth of a video. I am in a group with Chelsea Ly, Angela Arora , and Kate Flower-Donaldsons. We have decided to make the life of a coin- involving how one coin can travel through many hands, and in various place. The features of a Camera-
  1. The Resolution of the camera
  2.  We must make sure that we have connectivity- If we have the cord to connect the data,
  3.  Enough Storage? -Does it have enough memory,
  4.  Does it have audio? Does it have decent audio?
We will be making a story board of the different angles of film with this hyperlink- http://accad.osu.edu/womenandtech/Storyboard%20Resource/
We are definitely having some problems regarding the actual topic- One group member (kate) is against this idea and we are debating over the topic to do. The topic is on thin ice.

Broadband and Bandwidth

What is Broadband?
The term broadband refers to a telecommunications signal of greater bandwidth, in some sense, than another standard or usual signal (and the broader the band, the greater the capacity for traffic

  • What is broadband?

Diagram showing how ADSL broadband and dialup compare in how they send data down a telephone line.
  • What is units are used to measure bandwidth?
The units which are used to measure are megabytes, bytes, and bits.
  • How much faster is broadband than dial-up?
Basic broadband is atleast four times faster, but this is the minimal difference. As the Broadband becomes more advanced , the speed difference widens, and broadband overtakes the
'dirt track' of dialup internet. An average broadband line, working at 512Kbps, is about nine times faster than the best dialup connection, while a really fast broadband line, working at up to 8MBps (megabits per second), can be over 100 times quicker!
  • What are the speeds that broadband operates at compared to dial-up?
There is a great eHow article on this topic.

I am unable to find the answer for it?

  • What are some of the advantages of using a broadband connection to download something like a video compared to dial-up
Refer to the diagram above.
Instead of treating your phone line as a single, narrow pipe between your computer and the ISP's computer, like a dialup connection, it divides the line into many different channels. Information can travel in parallel streams down these channels. It's like dividing a highway into several lanes: lots more traffic can go down it in parallel than down a single-lane road.
